WOMEN EMPOWERMENT -SEFIC PROGRAM-

Studies on the national poverty gap show that 89.6% of the rural population lives below the poverty line and 46.7% live in extreme poverty. 

ADRI  promotes through its Program of Entrepreneurship Services and Integral Community Strengthening -SEFIC- the entrepreneurship of women and men through the organization, training of capacities and capitalization to more than 3,000 women formed in solidarity groups  and individuals, who with small loans (from $200? to $3000)  have managed to insert themselves into the market and by becoming community entrepreneurs contribute to the household economy,  guaranteeing support  to  family’s   food security, clothing, education and health .

 

RESULTS ACHIEVED:

Income generating women organized in 89 solidarity groups provided with seed capital to invest in productive activities, such as agriculture and marketing of basic grains, dry goods store, livestock production, hogs, poultry, cardamom crops, weaving, and others;

Women’s groups remain active under the SEFIC project with a portfolio of $426,031.00 and a delinquency rate of less than 1%;

Families have received seed capital to implement individual and agricultural projects. The total portfolio for this group stands at $305,412.00 with a delinquency rate of less than 1%;

Families are investing profits in growing their businesses improving health, education and food and clothing for their families
